Biography
She was born in Larissa in 1982. She studied classical dance at the Municipal Academy of Ballet in Larissa(Gr), Contemporary Dance, Improvisation and Movement Composition at AREA (Barcelona) and Hiphop at the Company & Company School (Barcelona). She started to dance professionally and teach in Greece and Spain in 2010. In 2012 she founded the company AlmaLibre.co in which she works as a choreographer and dancer.
AlmalLibre.co's creative and choreographic work i s based on the research of human freedom and the immediacy of dance as a way of expression and communication. The company presented its work in various International Dance Festivals in Greece, Spain, Ireland, Bulgaria, Germany and Italy. It was awarded the Residency Award at Centro Coreografico de la Gomera / Kanarias Islas for the project “ A true story” and the Residency Award at LaCaldera Centre de Creation en Dance y Artes Esceniques, Barcelona (2015) for the project “Race to grace” by the Madrid Choreography Competition. “Race to grace” was selected by the Spanish festival organization “Cielo Abierto” to tour in Spain in 2016. In March 2017 the piece "Home" was awarded the first prize (audience award) by "In progress Feedback Festival 2017" organized by Kinitiras Art Space in Athens. An excerpt from the productions "Home" and “Black Swans” respectively were presented in 2019 and 2020 at Viewfinder under the "40 Winks" of Springback Magazine organized by Aerowaves. The company was supported financially by the Greek Ministry of Culture for the projects "JOY" (2020) and "danceathon" (Kalamata Internationa Dance Festival 2023). The piece "Pillars of the sky" presented in 16th Dance Days Chania Festival and hosted by the Artistic Residency Program of Texnopolis (2026).
As a dancer / performer she collaborated with: Prosxima Dance Company, Jai Gonzales, Yannis Antoniou-Kunst-stoff company, National Opera of Greece, Kyriaki Spanou, Lola Gonzales, Marianna Kavalieratos, Thomas Mosxopoulos, Amalia Benett, Fani Ardan, LaTaimada, Iasis, Yelp.com, Soyuz, D.Martinez, Ol.Alvarez, and others. As an actress she participated in the film by Giorgos Zois “ Interruption” (Official participation at the Venice Cinema Festival 2015).
She has worked as a movement director and choreographer for theatre productions in Athens and as an external collaborator of the Thessalian Theatre, working as movement coach, performer, and assistant director. As a teacher, since 2024 she collaborates with the Rhythmic Gymnastics Association “Niki Larissas” as choreographer and artistic collaborator for competitive programs, while also providing classical ballet training to athletes. Since 2011 to the present she has been teaching contemporary dance and improvisation at dance schools in Greece and abroad.
